Baked Apple Crisp
A slight alteration of a recipe from Sutter Creek Inn
in Sutter Creek, CA from Lera Chitwood
4-5 large Granny Smith apples (or similar) sliced thin
1/3 C of orange juice
3 T of sugar
Topping
1/3 C of all-purpose flour
1 C of uncooked oatmeal
½ C of firmly packed brown sugar
1 t of cinnamon
1 C of chopped walnuts (or pecans)
½ t of salt
1/3 2 C. of butter
Butter a large round baking dish. Place sliced apples
in the dish with the orange juice and add the sugar.
In a separate bowl mixe the ingredients for the topping.
Sprinkle this mixture over the top of the apples and pat
it down. Bake for 1 hr. on 350 degrees, or until it is
bubbly and the apples look translucent. Serve hot.
